Bar Association Civil Court Gorakhpur has a very rich part. If we peep into its long history we find how great men of wisdom and social insight with a sense of service to people at large had been serving to the great cause of getting people legal help and ofcourse justice by the honourable courts. It would he pertinent to recollect the history associated with the journey of the Bar Association. Bar Association came into lime light with its establishment in 1805. It was presided over, under the chairmanship of Late Munsi Haridutta on 28-10-1895. It had a membership of 42 persons. It rose up to 136 during the year of diamand Jubilee Celebration in 1975-76. The member of Bar Association member went up to 2500 in 1998 at the time of the centenary year celebration .Today the registration membership is 6000. The first president of the Association Munsi Haridutta had worked since 1895 to 1899.The next president was Munsi Narsingh Prasad, whose working period was from 1900 to 1903. The third one, Munsi Chhottu Lal, worked from 1903 to 1913. The fourth president of the Bar Association was Munsi Bhairo prasad.His tenure lasted from 1913 to 1920. The fifth president was a noted dignitory Ayodhya Das whose tenure lasted just for one year i.e. 1921. In fact those were great times of flux and National revolutions and wars of British empire. The next president was honourable Mohammed Ismile who had the honour to serve the Bar Association for a decade from 1922 to 1932. The seventh one was Rai Bahadur Munsi Narsingh Prasad who had worked since 1932 to 1942. It was a period when Gandhiji’s Quit India movement was launched against the British empire. The Eight president of the Bar Association was Sri Jagdamba Prasad, he had the pleasure to serve the Association for almost a decade since 1942 to 1952. The Ninth president of the Association was an eminent Advocate Pt. Harihar Prasad Dubey who had the honour to serve the Association for more than a decide i.e. since 1952 to 1963. The Eleventh president of the Association had been glorified by a noted Advocate Sri Babban Prasad Mishra, his tenure was from 1971 to 1974. Then came Sri Rajeshwari prasad whose tenure lasted from 1975 to 1976 and he had the preveledge and pride to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of the Association. Another noted councellor next to him was Sri Amar Nath Verma who served the Association from 1977 to 1978. There after, one of the most honourable member of the family of the councellor was Late Pt. Ram Das Dhar Dubey from 1981 to 1982, Next to him was Late Satrujeet Mall from period 1987 to 1988. Late Sri Chandra Bhushan Srivastava worked from 1984 to 1985,Late Sri Ram Chandra Prasad worked from 1986 to 1987, Late Sri Ashthabhuja prasad Srivastava worked 1989 to 1990. There ofter Sri Virendra Bahadur Khare a noted Advocate of the Bar Council served the Association from 1989 to 1990 and from 2002 to 2003, Sri Avadhesh Kumar Srivastava, an honourable Ex-M.L.A.,also seved the Association from 1990-1991, Late Sri Ram Prakash Pandey seved the Association from 1994-1995, Late Ram Prakash Shukla worked as president from 1996-1997 and from 1997 to 1998.The Century year of the Bar Association was Celebrated in me Co-ordinator under the presidentship of Late Ram Pratap Shukla, Suresh Kumar Shukla worked from 1999 to 2000 and 2004 to 2006. Radhe Shyam Pandey worked from 2000 to 2002(President of District Association of Advocate), Sri Padmakar Dutt Tiwari 2006 to 2007, and Radhy Shyam Pandey in 2009. I had the opportunity to seve the Bar Association as president since 2005 to 2007 and again thanks to honourable member. I was releted for the year 2010-2011. The present working committee is doing its work sineurly. It is hearting to know that ofter completion of 210th year of the Civil Court and 125 the year of the Association an special ceremony is since orgnised. It’s Chief Guest is served, most honourable Justice Mr. Ferdino Inacio Rebello - The Justice of honourable High Court Allahabad and speacial Guest is honourable Sri Ganesh Shankar Pandey Jee. chairman Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Lukhnow It would be unjustice and temerity if forget to mention the name of some other great names in the fermanent of the faimily of the Bar Council. Formost among then is the name of Late Charu Chandra Das Jee who devoted to this profession long ago in 1892, he very shortly achieved great name & fame as an Advocate bad luck, his life was eclipred very shortly, he had donated his entere propaty to Charu Das Trust for the good of the T.B.patiants.How can we forget the renowled lawyer pandit Harihar Prasad Dubey, Sri Rai Bahadur, Sri Ram Narayan Lal, Pt. Rambali Rai, Sri Keshwa Prasad, Sri Lal Bahadur Singh,Janab Samir Ali, Sri Lalta Prasad, Sri Laxmi prasad Verma, Sri Shyam Nath Pradhan, Avadh Bihari Lal Babu, Sri Sripati Lal Sinha, Sri rai Bahadur, Sri Adya prasad Pandit, Sri Raghuvans Mani Tripathi, Sri Kundan Lal Khullar, Pt.Harish Chandra Pati Tripathi, Pt. Babban Prasad Mishra and Pt. Kailash Pati Mishra. These lumarien had enhaneed the dignity of the prefession and brought the Bar Association Civil Court Gorakhpur on the brought map of the field Judiciary at par with National import once. In fact our’s have been some even greater staberts who besides rendering. The profession pleaged very important role in the freedom struggle, And They are Late Sri Babu Bindhyawasini Prasad, Late Sri Thakur sangram singh, Late sri Chandrika Lal, Late Sri Uma Shankar Ojha, Late Sri Hari Shankar Prasad Gupta, Sri Bhruginath Chaturvedi, Late Sri Suleman Ansari, Late Sri Istafa Hussain and some other whose name are not getting place hare. In the field of Library quest the Association has been very fortunate to find men of letters such as late Sri Munsi Gorakh Prasad, Poet Late Sri Raghupati Sahaya(Ram), Late Sri Lal Ayodhya Das, Sri Munsi Narsingh Prasad, Rai Rajeshwari Prasad, Sri Kramil Hussain, Late Munsi Bhaagwati Prasad suhan, Late Munsi Dutla Lal ‘Ambar’, Sri Rang Bahadur lal “Jigai” Sri Babu Badari Prasad ‘Kumar’, Late Sri Jagdish Prasad ‘Visal’, Sri Sajid ali ‘Akhtar’ and Late Sri Surendra Chandra Tripathi, These men of liberature left there fragrance to linger in the mind of then fraternity. They raised the untellectual stature of the Bar Association to new hights. These have been some very emenent members of the association most of them hare till been rendering to the noble cause of the profession Bar some are in just memories. Uma Shankar Ojha, Late Sri Kailash Pati Tripathi, Mishra Sri Ramakant Verma. Late Sri Pt. Ram Das Dhar Dubey, Late Sri Satrujeet Mall. They are the senior members of the Bar Association Sri Pyare Mohan Sarkar, Sri AmarNath Verma, Sri Paras Nath Mishra,Sri Krishna Pal Singh M.L.C., Sri Rajendra Prasad Gupta, Sri Om Prakash Gupta,Sri Kailash Pati Tripathi,Sri Mukund Lal Gupta,Sri Kamal Kishore Khullar, Sri Krishna Jee Srivastava, Ram Prakash Shukla, Sri Krishana Gopal Pandey, Sri Virendra Bahadur Khare,Sri Yadu Nath Tripathi, Sri Habib Ahmad, Sri Onkar Nath Mishra, Sri Om Prakash Sinha, Sri Surendra Bahadur Singh, Sri Adya Saran Lal, Sri Shyam Jee Ojha, Sri Omkar Nath Mishra, Sri Radhey Shyam Pandey, Sri Ram Kripal Singh are a even today has been serving the Judiciary they are likle luminous stars in the firmanant of the court. They are the people to be emulated. The Bar Association can not forget the contribution of Late Sri Uday Pratap Dubey, Sri Krishna Pal Singh in the Ex-M.L.C. and Sri Nagendra Singh, Sri Awadhesh Kumar Srivastava, Sri Sheo Pratap Shukla all member of the ligislative assembly and council have. It was in angerated by the distinguished honourable Chief Justice High Court Justice Mr. Ferdino Inacio Rebello. the list of the honourable gentlement representative is nit yet over, Sri Vinod Kumar Pandey Jee M.LC. also readily sanetion 10Lakh Rs. for one more Chaya Kunj, Sri Devendra Pratap Singh M.LC. has also expresed his willing to get errected a Chhaya Kunj for the members of the Bar Association the Hall room was rennouated by the contribution of Sri Ved Prakash Aggrawal Advocate in the memory of his father and elder brother so he got the floor completed laid with marble & walls with tiles fitting. Berdes all these things other facilities such as provision of pure drinking water for the clients and the member and group Insurence facility of Rs one Lakh for member has been done.A pathevary has been consituted in the name of great martya Veer abdul hamid in our Civil Court campus. Many other developmental schemes. I hope that i will be getting full couperation, which I have already been getting, I promise to do the best possible effort to provide place to all my member to cxecute the prectice of law and help groom theer profession and give Justice to the poor and the oppreosed in its larger witorest with gegards given thare full cooperation to the great cause fo providing Justice to the common man while monitaoring the pride and dignity of the honourable caurts. Late Sri Nageshwar Prasad Shahi had as member of Rajya Sabha (M.P.) and Sri Raj Narayan Pasi as member of Parliament have added grace in the Juduciary as an advocate and member of the Bar Association thus since 1895. Till today Bar Association Gorakhpur has served its purpose agants sough winds of time,maintanary its great heritage. Bar Association has celebrated its cintenary year in 1997 with great zeal &fervous It was a great moment and fortune for me that I was given an opportunity to render my due as the coordivater of the ceremany. It Would be pertinent to mention the name of the distinguished geust who spaned their valuable thime to celebrate the occasion they were this excellencey Mahamahim Rajyapal Sri Suryabhan Jee, President of the U.P. assemble Hon;ble Sri Keshri Nath Tripathi Jee, Most revened Hon;ble Sri Jagdish Bhalla Justice High court Allahabad, Hon;ble Sri Saiyed Haider Abbash Raja Nyaymurti High court Allahabad, Hon;ble Sri Yatindra Nath uppar Mahadhivakta U.P., Prof. Ramesh Chandra Mishra Vice Chancellor Deen Dyal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University Gorakhpur and Prof. O.P. Tiwari H.O.D. faculty of law D.D.U., their august presence not only enthused the members of the Bar Associotion but added grace to the historic occassoin we owe much to them. I left no stone returned as the president of the Bar Association during my tenure i.e. 2006 and 2007, to help the couse of the Bar Association in this sequence, Pt. Harishanker Tiwari Ex-Cabinet Minister U.P. Government gave his whole hearted support and the statue of the father of Nation Mahatama Gandhi was stablished in front of the Bar Association building in Civil Court. The Bar office was equipped with computer room and it was connected with Internet facilities which helped the member very well. It was provided with valuable books as well as an executive President, I got 48 rooms built for the use of the Advocates. It’s being maintained very well by me as the president of hte committe maintenance. I am doing it with hest of my ability and by the cooperation of the Association members. The rehabilitation of the old ‘Vadkari’ room has been done and berides it three blocks eutitled Netajee Subhash Chandra Bos ‘Chhaya Kunj’, Chandra Shekhar Azad ‘Chhaya Kunj’ Pt. Ram Prasad bismil ‘Chhaya Kunj’ have been built for the shelter and proper execution of the Judecail work for the Advocate It could be built thanks to the monetary contribution given by Hon;ble Ganesh Shankar Pandey Jee M.LC. and Dr. Y.D.Singh M.L.C., who had been very generous to help. Again I was elected as the President of the Bar Association in 2010-2011 with the result I again setout to work with hard working Secretary Sri Bhanu Pratap Pandey Jee and ofcourse that of the working committee for the good of the members of the Bar. Again by joint efforts Hon’ble Dr. Ramapati Ram Tripathi, Dr. Radha Mohan Das Aggrawal Jee, The sitting M.L.A. Gorakhpur Mahanagar and Sri Jai Prakash Chaturvedi M.L.C. helped to build three shelters or say Chhaya Kunjs entitled ‘Late Vidhya Sagar Pandey Advocate ‘Chhaya Kunj’ Late Sri Ram Pratap Shukla Advocate ‘Chhaya Kunj’ and in the name of the first President of india”Dr. Rajendra Prasad Chhaya Kunj”, As a mark to respect and to peep in to the great herigage of the fraturnity of Advocate the building block very prefixed with the name of the great men in the field of juduciary. Today again it is heartening to inform that with the help of Hon;ble Sri Ganesh Shankar Pandey, the President of the legislative coucil U.P. Govt. very generousry contributed to erect one more building block for the members.
